Shooting a nature film
For the online platform "FrankenSein", I produced a nature film about the Wengleinpark in Franconian Switzerland, Germany together with a fellow student as part of my specialization module “Outdoor TV”. The Wengleinpark was once planned by Carl Wenglein as a bird sanctuary.
In the 1930s, the park developed from Wenglein's private retreat into a supra-regional excursion destination and since 1966 it has belonged to the "Bund Naturschutz", which uses it for environmental education.
My tasks
To plan the content, I spoke to Rainer Wölfel from the Wengleinpark nature conservation center to find out more about the park's origins and current use.
I then explored Wengleinpark myself to work on the script for our film. During the shoot, I also took on the role of director and production manager, and after the shoot I worked on the voiceover and selected the music.

Conclusion
For our shoot, we caught a sunny day in spring after it had rained heavily shortly beforehand. As a result, we were lucky enough to get a shot of the fire salamanders that give the park's salamander trail its name, as well as many other animal inhabitants of the park. As we started early in the morning, we had the park almost to ourselves for a few hours before the first hikers arrived. This resulted in a harmonious film that reflects the beauty of nature in Wenglein Park in a relaxed atmosphere.
